Glenn Caffery started his cross country run in May in Oregon. He's scheduled to finish it Wednesday evening in Westerly, Rhode Island. It's all to raise awareness and money, to find a cure for Alzheimer's, a disease that took his father in 2002.
"Talking with people about the Alzheimer's experience, sharing experiences about my Dad, the changes he went through, and my family went through was very powerful," Glenn said.
Lowlights of his trip: coyotes, rattlesnakes, severe thunderstorms, and 20 flat tires on the baby jogger he uses to carry his supplies. Highlights included drinking a gallon of chocolate milk every day since he needs about 7,000 calories to keep going.
