Washington – As President Obama recently noted, currency manipulation makes imports artificially cheap and inflates the prices of U.S. exports, placing U.S. manufacturers “at a huge competitive disadvantage.”  These unfair trade practices by East Asian nations, especially China, will be the subject of an Economic Policy Institute (EPI) Forum, “Currency Manipulation: How Should the U.S. Respond?” on Friday, March 12.

Economists Paul Krugman and C. Fred Bergsten will join manufacturing business and labor leaders to discuss the impacts of currency manipulation and the policy changes needed to remedy the damage being done to U.S manufacturers and workers.  RSVP below to attend in person.
